For Tamar (5)

Michael Peach

There’s nothing harder in the whole wide world
Than be a feeler and an extravert:
Much more than others’, your sweet heart is hurled
Against the rocks of life’s rough sea and hurt.

Yet, of the types which make humanity
You are the healer, and the cox of love:
Your wounded heart exudes the empathy
That steers a soul, adrift, to Noah’s dove.
