Both Huxley and Orwell would emit a sigh,
If they beheld an artificial drone:
The Savage once again would wish to die
And Winston see he’ll never be alone.
As for myself, I share these grave emotions,
When strolling close to jackals on natural ground
And watching birds perform their graceful motions,
If comes a man-made drone to buzz around.
Some hi-tech zealot with Pandoran tools
Is lording over everything in view;
A brave new worldly Big Brother, whom fools
Applaud for showing kids what they could do.
++Alas! Not only are drones deadly in war,
++In “peace” sweet solitude they fatally gore.
