Here, despite the protests
Of outraged citizens,
In the name of “fire prevention”
The Jerusalem Municipality
Perversely sears
With infernal herbicide
Large portions
Of the rain-blessed, vernal
Valley of the Cross,
Impairing thus
Her precious wildlife
And natural resurrection.
