(A Postscript to Brave New World)
By thanking God for Shakespeare I defy
The essence of this fell society;
And now I feel I would prefer to die
Than cease to read the Bard, who “fathered” me.
Today a hedonistic soma consumer,
Who’s always happy and never suffers pain,
Divulged facetiously an ominous rumour
That Mond my Works of Shakespeare shall detain.
While still I have some hope, I ought to write
A rhyming couplet on nobility –
Which Will knew well gives one the right
To die, if stopped by all from being free:
++The ardent wish to worship God above;
++To meet Miranda’s soul and fall in love.
