Authentic prophets truly comprehend
Their keen “predictions” are conditional,
While literalists relate them to an end
Decreed by God, and thus inevitable.
The prophet, therefore, claims we have a choice,
Concerning blessed peace or bloody war;
And, when the latter looms, he makes his voice
Or pen unleash a warning from his core.
But fatalistic fundamentalists,
Who think they grasp God’s “blueprint” well,
Are fooled by self-fulfilling populists
That can create on Earth despotic hell.
“Believers” need to know true prophecy
Engendered ethical democracy.
