With fearful voice I say the flight
From words to images will blight
The means by which we humans might
Convert dark chaos into light.
In other words, I feel the swing
From words to images will bring
On earth a new barbaric age
In which the poet, child and sage
Will find their gifts and truths ignored
By philistines innately bored
By anyone who makes them think
Beyond persona, sex and drink.
I therefore shouldn’t Christians blame
When even literally they claim
The Word, or Logos, to us came
As God the Son – His second name.
