{"id":163,"date":"2006-10-12T12:50:28","date_gmt":"2006-10-12T16:50:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.michaelpeach.org\/2006\/10\/12\/to-a-techno-man\/"},"modified":"2014-04-06T07:14:14","modified_gmt":"2014-04-06T11:14:14","slug":"to-a-techno-man","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.michaelpeach.org\/to-a-techno-man\/","title":{"rendered":"To A Techno-Man"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On the border of my fragile Eden,<br \/>The Jerusalem Botanical Gardens,<br \/>You stand outside your rented, stone hut<br \/>(A man-made cave) in high-tech shades<br \/>And micro-Y-fronts, flexing your muscles<br \/>And blasting the wadi with waves of Techno.<br \/>Even the reptiles are petrified.<\/p>\n<p>You modern Samsons are so big-headed<br \/>You voluntarily shave your scalps.<br \/>I can imagine your view of peace:<br \/>Standing on the wall, machine-gun in hand,<br \/>Directing mindless, wordless, toxic<br \/>Techno at penned-in Palestine.<\/p>\n<p>And here&rsquo;s a voluntary confession:<br \/>When the mercenary Israel Museum,<br \/>Opposite which I live and write,<br \/>Let its premises to zombies like you,<br \/>As did the owners of the country&rsquo;s<br \/>Last unspoiled beach, this very summer,<br \/>I was possessed by the urge to be<br \/>A suicide bomber; but, being a poet<br \/>And introvert, I imploded instead.<\/p>\n<p>But, tell me, do you know at all<br \/>What are empathy and dialogue?<br \/>Have you read Buber, or even heard<br \/>Of him?
